In honor of this, the famous truffle festival takes place every year in September and October.
On the second weekend in September, there is a very special attraction in Buzet - a gigantic omelette (also known as a fritada). Over 2000 eggs and 10 kg of truffles are cooked in a huge pan. This event marks the official start of the truffle season.
