The area around Bork was already known to the ancient Vikings and it is well understood why the wild ancestors of the Danes settled there. Bork Havn is sheltered in the very interior of Ringkøbing Fjord with Denmark's largest beach lake on one side and Denmark's most interesting bird sanctuary on the other.
