Rechlin is a state-recognised resort on the south bank of the Müritz. The small towns of Mirow and Röbel are approx. 10 and 18 km away respectively. The town has restaurants, shops, a marina, jetty, bathing beach, boat hire, children's playgrounds and much more. The aviation museum in Rechlin Nord provides interesting insights into the time when the town was a testing ground for the air force, the shipyard and the town's history, while the Müritz National Park is just a few kilometres to the north and is one of the most important habitats for rare animals and plants thanks to its huge forest complexes, many small lakes, meadows and moors. Numerous observation towers have been built for this purpose.
