From the nearby jetty you can jump into the crystal clear water and go swimming. There are many opportunities for family-friendly trips in the mountains, but also for more challenging routes like the Besseggen. The bike path between Danebu and Nythun follows old stone roads and is a beautiful ride on two wheels. Valdres offers a range of activities such as horseback riding, rafting, canyoning, etc. There is also a 9-hole golf course at Aurdalsfjorden.
In winter it is possible to strap on your skis and ski from the cottage. Alternatively, you can drive to the lift. There is a good choice of excursions from here, both alpine slopes and cross-country trails. Take a trip to Leira or Fagernes and explore the many stores and cafes.
